In the interactive Out and About language programs, there are plenty of activities that afford users opportunities to learn and practice valuable words, phrases, and expressions for getting 'out and about' in the specific city.

In Out and About in Athens, users learn words, phrases, and expressions that are helpful for: navigating around town; reading and recognizing street signs, store signs, and traffic signs; taking public transportation; understanding street directions; buying food in the market; and ordering meals in a restaurant.

Greek Basic Course

The Greek Basic Course introduces the modern spoken language to those who wish a working command of contemporary Greek. The Greek represented in this course is a representative of the Kathomilumeni variety that is the "standard" speech of educated Greeks. It is neither entirely colloquial nor striclty formal. In the written materials the Greek alphabet is used from the beginning.

FSI Greek Basic Course, Volume I, provides introductory materials in modern spoken Greek for the student who wishes to achieve a working command of the language currently spoken by educated Greeks. The style is neither entirely demotic (colloquial) nor strictly formal. The Greek orthography is used from the beginning so that the student learns to read what he has learned to say.
